Your Vehicle
The unexpected can happen anytime and anywhere. You may be in your vehicle during an emergency; you should have supplies to help sustain and keep you comfortable. When putting together emergency supplies for your vehicle, consider what you can comfortably carry as you may have to leave your vehicle and walk to a safe location.
The following items will fit in a backpack for an emergency car kit:
- Ready-to-eat food and 1.5 litres of water in multiple water pouches.
- Rain clothes, blankets, hand and foot warmers, first aid kit.
- Flashlight and batteries, whistle, cell phone charger, warning lights and flares.
- Rags and paper towels, ice scraper brush, shovel and booster cables.
Here is a
printable checklist of the items to include in your vehicle emergency kit. It is ideal to check the kit twice a year to restock and make sure food, water and to restock any items. Assemble supplies in a portable container and store in your vehicle.
